Onboarding and Getting Started

Below is a guide that can be used as an onboarding checklist for new advisors and an access point to ongoing training and resources.

DPR Training Course

We’ve developed a training course in Canvas for new advisors to become familiar with the DPR. We ask that all new advisors complete the course. The course reviews everything you need to know about the DPR and is expected to take about an hour to complete.

Getting Security

Advisors changing departments

If you are already an academic advisor, whether in a college or an academic department, email the Office of the Registrar at regsys@ucsc.edu to request a change in security. It is helpful to copy the department or program manager to confirm appropriate permissions.

New advisors

If you are a new advisor at UC Santa Cruz, complete the new, change, or remove access request form in SlugHub.

Resources

The Degree Progress Unit provides step-by-step tutorials, walkthroughs, and demonstrations that you can access at any time.
