Course Directive: Modify a Course Directive
Step 1
Find the requirement in the DPR that has the existing exception you wish to change. From the Create Exception drop down menu, select Course Directive, and click Go.

Step 2
The Directed Courses section will include the course(s) currently used in the directive. If removing individual courses, click the trash can icon on the line of the course you wish to remove. Click OK on the warning prompt.

Step 3
Select any course(s) you want to add into the Course Directive from the UCSC Courses, Transfer Credit, and/or Test Credit sections. You can add as many courses as necessary, and courses can be from multiple sections.
Select Substitute to allow the course to count toward the requirement.
Select Exclude to not allow the course to count toward the requirement.

Step 4
Review the Exception Note and update it to match the newly edited course directive. Once all of the edits are made click Save and Reprocess DPR.

Step 5
You’ll return to the requirement in the DPR where you can see the Course Directive you just edited.
