Requirement Term: Academic Plan and Sub-Plan

The requirement term for the Student Plan/Sub-Plan applies to the specified academic plan and sub-plan (i.e. major, concentration, minor, and/or college).

Step 1

From the Academic Advisor Home Page in AIS, navigate to the Student Program/Plan page using the following path:

Advising and Curriculum -> Career/Program/Plan -> Student Program/Plan

Step 2

Enter the Student ID and click Search

The current Student Program will populate.

Warning

When the Student Program loads on the Student Program tab, if any of the following conditions are true, stop what you’re doing, and contact regsys@ucsc.edu.

  • Program Action = COMP (student has completed the program)
  • Program Action = DISC (student has discontinued study)
  • Program Action = DATA and Action Reason = ACAN (student has applied to graduate)
  • Program Action = DATA and Action Reason is blank (student has applied to graduate)
  • Program Action = DATA and Action Reason = RSCH (student has rescheduled graduation)

If none of the above are true, proceed to step 4

Step 4

Click on the “+” sign in the top right corner of the Student Details box on the Student Program tab

Step 5

The Program Action and Action Reason will erase. Enter the following information:

Program Action: DATA

Action Reason: RTRM

Step 6

Click on the Student Plan tab. In the bottom box click “View All” to expand all academic plans.

Step 7

Find the Academic Plan you wish to change the requirement term for, and enter the new 4-digit term code to update the requirement term (i.e. 2218, 2220, 2228, etc).

IF the plan you updated has a sub-plan (concentration) continue to step 8.

IF the plan you updated does not have a sub-plan, continue to step 9

Step 8

Click on the Student Sub-Plan tab. A list of all plans and their associated sub-plans will display. Find the academic plan you updated and update its associated sub-plan with the same requirement term.

Step 9

Click Save
